Welcome to a glimpse into the lives of The Waring Family! Liz, Andrew, Joey and baby Lily make up this wonderful little family.  Lily came into this world just over two weeks ago, and it is obvious how much happiness she has brought to them all! 

The Warings are friends of mine, so I was so happy to have gotten a message from Liz asking to do a session with her and her lovely little fan! <3

It is always important to capture the time when they are this little; they grow way too quickly!  I am in no way a "newborn photographer," see Trisha Sheehan for excellent newborn photography in the Hampton Roads area! I do enjoy newborn babies though, and their cute little button noses and tiny toes! 

It really makes me miss the time when Noah was this small <3

...it's tough being a big brother! Joey is getting to be such a big boy; he's probably wondering who this cute little pink bundle is in his house!

Liz and Andrew are both such wonderful friends and parents!  They are doing a great job with Joey, and now with the arrival of their sweet baby Lily...their family is just full of love and joy!  Aren't they just beautiful together?!

This Independence Day, we finally ventured out as a full family to see the fireworks!  Independence Day 2010...Noah was a newborn, and Seth had returned to Italy.  I am pretty sure I went to bed early that night.  The next year, Noah and I went to Roanoke to be spend the 4th with family, and Seth was still in Italy.  We drove out to a park to watch the fireworks, but by the time we got out and walked to our spot...Noah was fast asleep!  Just a year old, and he slept through the entire thing!  Last 4th of July, Seth was finally here with us, but Noah went to bed early again, and he missed the fireworks!

FINALLY this 4th, we got to see the fireworks on the beach, and we got to see them together and with good friends.  Noah loved it!  He talked to Grandma on the phone for a few minutes while the fireworks were going and told her how "AWESOME!!!!" they were.  I am really glad he finally got to see them, and next year....we will be seeing them again! :)

Then I handed my camera to Seth to get some of Noah and I.  Look at that....getting his sunflare on! 

Ooh...and we saw this little guy as we were leaving the house!  Noah thought it was SO cool!  Okay...so did I...hence why I felt the need to take a picture of it!

So this was the first 4th where I have a nice camera!  I brought it with me of course.  I really wanted to try some longer exposures to capture the fireworks!  First time....so hope ya like!  

I shot these with a Canon 5D Mark II & 50mm f/1.4 @ f/3.2 and 0.8 of a second.

This father's day, Noah and I are celebrating the last three years of our family alone!  Seth is currently on a deployment, and I know you military mamas out there know how I feel.  While it is hard to spend so many holidays as an incomplete family, we do know that it is for a good reason.  Seth is out doing what he does best for our country, and Noah and I wanted to do something special to let him know that we are thinking of him today and missing him so much!

Thankfully, Seth gets back next weekend, but that does not make it any less harder for Noah to experience this day without his daddy around.

Noah wants to wish his daddy a HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!!

Just another day in our home...Daddy being here would make it so much better!

Here are some old camera phone-quality/pocket camera-quality pictures from when Noah was born.  This was such a wonderful day.  It was the day we both became parents.  It was extra special for Seth because it was the day he became a father -- the key to this special holiday!

Most of you probably know that Seth was stationed out of the country for a little over two years.  So while I was pregnant with Noah and for much of the first year of Noah's life, Seth was in Italy and we were in the D.C. area.  Yes, it was hard for me to play both roles and do double the work, but I know for Seth, it was extremely hard to be away from his family.  I know he was upset about how he couldn't be there for me when I was really sick while pregnant, and I know it pained him even more when he had to go back to Italy after just meeting his son.  

Once Seth was back home for good, he and Noah were back to being best friends, and I love that the separation did not affect the relationship between Noah and his daddy whatsoever.  Noah has always loved his Daddy more than anything, and I love the two of them together!  

Seth, we can't wait for you to come home!  Noah made some cards for you, and we got you an awesome gift to that you'll love!

Hint: warm and cozy, and you'll use it everyday!
